Description
Casale Vallechiesa Caspide Frascati DOC
Casale Vallechiesa is one of the most innovative wineries in the Lazio region, with over a century of experience producing indigenous and sustainable volcanic wines. Located in the Frascati province of Rome, the winery continues to evolve, combining tradition with forward-thinking practices that highlight the distinctive terroir of the region.
Casale Vallechiesa is currently undergoing organic conversion, reinforcing its commitment to sustainable viticulture and the preservation of Lazio’s volcanic landscape. The grapes are sourced from the estate’s Vigneti di Santa Croce vineyard, a site composed of volcanic soils rich in potassium, magnesium, and phosphorus salts. The vineyard enjoys southern exposure toward Rome, allowing optimal ripening, and is trained in the Guyot method to ensure balanced fruit quality and canopy control.
Winemaking
Hand-harvested from mid-September, the grapes are vinified in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, preserving aromatic purity and brightness. The wine rests four months on the lees, adding roundness and depth without losing its natural energy.
Pale straw-yellow in color with bright reflections, this Frascati presents a sense of freshness and youthful vibrancy. It opens with an inviting bouquet of aromatic herbs, white-fleshed fruit, and delicate wildflowers that lend a soft floral lift. On the palate, fresh citrus fruit and subtle mineral tones emerge, enriched by the supple texture gained from four months on the lees during vinification. The flavor profile is lively yet balanced, showcasing the crisp personality of Frascati, and concludes with a clean, persistent finish marked by citrus zest and a touch of light salinity that makes it ideal for refreshing summer enjoyment.
