Mount Gay Eclipse Rum

Eclipse is the embodiment of the Mount Gay style, body and aroma by which our Master Blender Trudiann Branker uses to blend every variety of Mount Gay rum. Eclipse is distilled in traditional copper port and column stills, then matured in ex-American whiskey casks, giving the blend notes of fresh vanilla, almond, ripe banana and dark chocolate, perfect for cocktails. For many rum aficionados, Eclipse is also a reference by which all rum should be measured. Eclipse has won the Gold Medal at the 2025 San Francisco World Spirits Competition.

Mount Gay Eclipse Rum presents a bright golden-amber hue and opens with inviting aromas of vanilla and ripe banana layered with caramel, summer fruit, gentle spice, and a touch of toasted oak. On the palate, it delivers a smooth, medium-bodied character that balances sweetness and oak, revealing flavors of baked fruit, caramel, and subtle peppery spice. The finish is clean and moderately long, leaving traces of warm oak and spice that highlight its classic Barbados rum style.
