The Optimist Sauvignon Blanc

When they were children Georges and Daniel’s home was hit by one of the first bombs in the Lebanese Civil War. Both brothers suffered grave injuries and as a result of the bombing the family fled to France. Through every hardship and every triumph, the Daou brothers chose to see possibility where others saw none. Optimist is the natural counterpart to Pessimist, born from that same defiant spirit but reaching toward the light. Where Pessimist revels in the dark and the bold, Optimist celebrates brightness, freshness, and the belief that the best is always yet to come.

Vineyards

Optimist Sauvignon Blanc is sourced from cool-climate vineyard sites across California’s Central Coast AVA, where the emphasis is on natural freshness and varietal purity. The coastal influence and careful harvest timing work together to preserve the wine’s innate vibrancy and structure, producing fruit that is bright, expressive, and beautifully balanced from vine to bottle.

Vinification

Winemaking for Optimist focuses on protecting what the vineyard gives. Fermentation takes place entirely in stainless steel, deliberately limiting any oak influence in order to maintain the wine’s signature bright acidity and aromatic lift. The result is a clean, honest expression of Sauvignon Blanc that lets the fruit speak for itself.
