Description
Alamos Cabernet Sauvignon
Alamos is rooted in over 120 years of family winemaking. Generation after generation has passed along the passion and winemaking expertise that results in the very best of Argentina in every bottle. From our adventurous high-elevation vineyards at the foot of the Andes, we craft flavorful, approachable, and authentically Argentine wines.
The grapes for our Cabernet Sauvignon were hand harvested, de-stemmed and crushed. The must was then chilled and cold soaked for 72 hours before yeast was added. Fermentation took place in upright, conical tanks for at 85°F for 6-8 days and skin contact with the juice lasted 18-20 days. We fermented and aged the juice on skins for 6-9 months at a maximum temperature of 85˚F. The entire blend underwent malolactic fermentation, adding complexity to the finished wine.
Our 2023 Alamos Cabernet Sauvignon opens with aromas of black cherry, brown sugar and black olive. The palate offers a silky, rounded mouthfeel brimming with juicy notes of black cherry and blackberry with accents of clove and black pepper. Supple tannins lead to a long, lingering finish with subtle notes of blackberry.
