Description
Cascade Heights Cabernet Sauvignon
Crafted by Bordeaux-trained winemaker Anne Sery, Cascade Heights is a small-production, family-owned label that draws its fruit from two carefully selected sites where Washington’s high desert landscape converges with the Columbia River. With a deep commitment to quality and a philosophy rooted in letting the land speak for itself, Cascade Heights delivers exceptional Washington Cabernet Sauvignon that punches well above its price point vintage after vintage.
The Columbia Valley is one of the most remarkable wine-growing regions in the world, shaped over millennia by ice-age floodwaters that left behind deep alluvial soils across eastern Washington. Nestled in the rain shadow of the Cascade Mountains, this vast appellation receives only a fraction of the rainfall that falls to the west, producing intensely concentrated fruit with distinctive character vintage after vintage.
Columbia Valley
As Washington’s largest and most celebrated wine region, the Columbia Valley spans nearly 11 million acres and serves as the umbrella appellation for many of the state’s most sought-after sub-AVAs. With an abundance of sunshine, warm days, cool nights, and minimal rainfall, it provides the ideal environment for growing bold, structured red wines that reflect the unique terroir of the Pacific Northwest.
Tasting Notes
Cascade Heights Cabernet Sauvignon opens with inviting aromas of rich dark fruit, leather, and subtle herbal notes. On the palate, ripe blackberry and black currant take center stage, layered with hints of spice and dark chocolate. Full-bodied with a deep, inky character and firm yet approachable tannins, this is a wine built to enjoy now or cellar for a decade or more. A wonderful match with red meats, aged cheeses, or a hearty mushroom risotto.
