Cognac Frapin is a true single-estate brand, proudly family owned for over 21 generations. Their 240 hectares of Ugni Blanc vineyards lie in the heart of Grande Champagne, Cognac’s premier cru. Every step of production, from vineyard to bottling, is carried out at the estate. Distillation on the lees in copper pot stills, followed by patient aging in both humid and dry cellars, gives Frapin cognacs their finesse, balance, and aromatic richness. Château Fontpinot XO holds the rare “Château” designation, reserved only for cognacs produced entirely on the estate.

Château Fontpinot XO & Centenary Edition

Created by Pierre Frapin in 1923, Château Fontpinot XO quickly became emblematic of the house’s elegance and long aging style. To celebrate its 100th anniversary, Frapin has released a limited edition homage, inspired by the original 1923 bottling. The cognac is presented in an elegant bottle and housed in a wooden case reminiscent of the straw-lined crates once used. Aged exclusively in the estate’s dry cellars, Château Fontpinot XO develops a distinctive refinement and depth, with aromas and flavors that embody Frapin’s timeless craftsmanship.

Tasting Profile

Château Fontpinot XO displays a silky copper hue with golden highlights. The nose opens with floral notes before revealing autumn fruits over blond, polished wood. On the palate, candied fruit, dried apricot, almond, and hazelnut unfold with finesse, evolving into deeper notes of nougat, port, and the signature rancio of very old cognacs. The finish is warm, long, and generous, marked by exceptional balance and persistence. A drop of water reveals further aromatic complexity, while the XO pairs beautifully with desserts or a fine cheese platter.
