Description
Copper & Cask Boston Rum Party 8-Year Rye Whiskey Finished in Rum Casks
For this release, Copper & Cask looked to bridge the bold, spicy character of high rye whiskey with the sweeter, softer influence of rum barrel finishing. The blend brings together two lots of 95% rye, 5% malted barley mash bill rye whiskey, one aged for 8 years and the other for 10, before spending over a year finishing in rum barrels carefully selected to complement rather than overpower the rye. The result is a bold yet approachable whiskey bottled at cask strength 60.6% ABV (120.2 proof) and limited to just 2,000 bottles.
Behind this release is a story worth raising a glass to. Copper & Cask Barrel Master Stephen Corrigan has spent nearly 15 years working with the Arcadia Center for Sustainable Food and Agriculture, helping to launch and sustain their Veteran Farmer Training Program since 2015. The program supports veterans transitioning out of military service and into careers in agriculture, equipping them with the practical skills needed to build and run a successful small business. One dollar from every bottle sold goes directly to this effort.
