Description
Copper & Cask Wave That Flag 9-Year Double Oak Bourbon
For America’s 250th anniversary, Copper & Cask set out to make a bold statement about what bourbon can be. This release starts with a blend of low rye bourbon barrels (21% rye mash bill), mostly aged in Kentucky, before undergoing a secondary finishing in ZAK Cooperage Wave Stave Char 1 barrels across four different toast levels. The result is a dark, unapologetically American bourbon built on the influence of new American oak, bottled at cask strength 58.5% ABV (117 proof) and limited to just 3,000 bottles.
Behind this release is a story worth raising a glass to. Copper & Cask Barrel Master Stephen Corrigan has spent nearly 15 years working with the Arcadia Center for Sustainable Food and Agriculture, helping to launch and sustain their Veteran Farmer Training Program since 2015. The program supports veterans transitioning out of military service and into careers in agriculture, equipping them with the practical skills needed to build and run a successful small business. One dollar from every bottle sold goes directly to this effort.
