Corazon Single Barrel Anejo Tequila Aged in Buffalo Trace Barrels
Some spirits tell a story of place. Some tell a story of craft. Corazon Single Barrel Anejo tells both, and then adds a chapter written in Kentucky oak. Born in the sun-drenched highlands of Jalisco, Mexico, where Casa San Matias has been perfecting tequila for over 130 years, this extraordinary anejo begins with 100% Blue Weber agave, hand-harvested from the mineral-rich soils of Los Altos. The agave is slow-roasted in traditional clay ovens, fermented with a proprietary yeast blend, and double distilled before beginning its most transformative journey yet.
That journey takes the spirit north, into barrels that once cradled some of America’s most celebrated bourbon at the legendary Buffalo Trace Distillery in Kentucky. Through the Sazerac Boomerang Barrel Program, those seasoned barrels make their way back to Casa San Matias, where Corazon’s anejo rests inside them for a full 18 months, drawing out layers of warmth, sweetness, and oak that no standard tequila aging process could replicate. Every barrel is unique, meaning every bottle is too.
