Hussong’s Tequila Reposado
It all began in 1892, in the oldest and best-known cantina in Ensenada, Mexico, where Juan Hussong served his own handmade tequila and the classic margarita is rumored to have made its first known appearance. Over 120 years later, Hussong’s Tequila carries on the rich history and legacy of the Hussong family name.
Agave:
Our agaves are 100% Blue Weber, harvested at a minimum age of 5 years, from both the lowlands and highlands of Jalisco, Mexico.
Cooking:
Our unique cooking method is to combine the old traditional way of cooking agaves in brick ovens and our stainless steel autoclaves for 32-36 hours.
Aged:
4 to 5 months in American White Oak Barrels
Hussong’s Reposado Tequila is aged for five months in used bourbon barrels and that gives aromas of caramel, butterscotch, brown sugar, vanilla, custard cream, butter, powdery new dough, sweet agave, almond, citrus, cola nuts, mint, nutmeg, baking spices, and oak. The palate offers flavors of caramel, vanilla, banana cake, fruity, agave, grassy, anise, licorice, Red Hots candy, cinnamon, nutmeg, baking spice, whipped egg whites, oats. toasted bread, grain, oak, and cedar. The finish is smooth, and super elegant, leaving lingering notes of toffee, vanilla, agave, wintergreen, anise, cinnamon and oak.
