Our story begins over 300 years ago, as the Bourbon industry’s forebearers first transformed the water of life into Bourbon. We celebrate the courage and innovation of these early distillers. Over generations distillers have perfected this craft we all love, into what today is a distinctively American Spirit. Many have and continue to successfully experiment with mash bills, fruit, grain, root, bark, and more. However, there is one magic recipe that continues to stand out, corn, barley, rye and wheat. Nobody knows who was first, but we celebrate them and this delicious spirit they developed. They are our heroes and Kentucky Walker Bourbon was masterfully distilled to honor our American Distiller’s Heritage.

There’s a particular legend in which a large deer with silver antlers frequented Kentucky’s farmers, where corn is still harvested to this day. It was believed this deer brought fortune to these farmers. With such abundant harvests, they wondered what they could do with the surplus. Like the ancient alchemists they began using the excess to produce their own unique version of this water of life. Locals called this deer “The Walking King of the Forest” and framed their barrels with this symbol.
