Description
Nelson Brothers Classic Bourbon
Nelson Brothers Classic Bourbon comes from a whiskey legacy dating back to the mid-1800s, when German immigrant Charles Nelson built one of the largest and most respected Tennessee whiskey operations in Greenbrier, TN. By the late 19th century, his distillery was producing millions of bottles annually and shipping worldwide, helping define the category of Tennessee Whiskey. After Charles’s death, his wife Louisa ran the business until statewide Prohibition in 1909 forced its closure.
Nearly a century later, in 2006, Charles’s descendants Andy and Charlie Nelson rediscovered their family’s history and made a pact to revive the brand. By 2019, they had rebuilt Nelson’s Green Brier Distillery in Nashville, continuing their ancestor’s tradition of quality craftsmanship.
The Classic Bourbon features a mash bill of 64% corn, 30% rye, and malted barley, delivering a balanced profile between bourbon sweetness and rye spice. Aromas of spice cake, cherry, vanilla, baked apple, and milk chocolate lead into flavors of black peppercorn, spearmint, lemon peel, sweet tobacco, and herbal brightness. The finish lingers with notes of banana bread, cocoa, cherry, and dried pineapple.
This award-winning bourbon has earned Double Gold at the 2022 SIP Awards, Gold at the New York International Spirits Competition, and high critical praise, including a 94-point rating from The Tasting Panel. It’s a complex yet approachable whiskey, crafted for both casual enjoyment and serious appreciation.
