Founded in 2011 by longtime friends Sean Josephs, Charles Fulford, and Jay Peterson, Pinhook was born from a shared passion for American whiskey and a desire to bring a fresh perspective to bourbon. Combining Sean’s sommelier expertise, Charles’s eye for design, and Jay’s business acumen rooted in the horse industry, they began by purchasing and aging 20 barrels from Indiana’s Lawrenceburg Distillers. Their frequent trips to Kentucky inspired the brand’s name, an homage to “pinhooking,” the practice of raising young horses for future success. Pinhook’s first release in 2014 earned acclaim, and in 2017 the brand began distilling its own mash bills at the revived Castle & Key Distillery, marking the first whiskey produced there in nearly 50 years. Today, Pinhook is recognized across the U.S. for its integrity, innovation, and approachability, crafting distinctive bourbon and rye that continue to captivate whiskey lovers nationwide.

Aged more than 3 years, the 2025 vintage of Pinhook Bourbon showcases lush tropical fruit drizzled with honey and caramel, followed by soft bakery and glazed donut notes that evolve into a warm palette of clove, graham cracker, and cinnamon.

• APPEARANCE: Amber
• AROMAS: Warm aromas of butterscotch, dried apricot, graham cracker or light vanilla, possibly with a hint of orange peel
• TASTE: Medium-rich body with flavors of caramel, roasted peanuts or nuts, cinnamon spice, maybe cocoa or coffee undertones depending on barrel aging
• FINISH: A moderately long finish combining sweet vanilla and caramel with a warm oak-spice peppery edge
