Description
Tequila General Gorostieta Overproof Blanco Tequila
Tequila General Gorostieta is an artisanal tequila rooted in history, heritage, and a relentless commitment to craft. Named after General Enrique Gorostieta — the legendary military leader of Mexico’s Cristero movement — this small-batch tequila is a tribute to courage, resilience, and the belief that some things are worth fighting for.
Produced in the Los Altos (Highlands) region of Jalisco, General Gorostieta sources its agave from plants grown at over 2,000 meters above sea level for six to seven years, hand-selected and tested for sugar levels right in the field. The agave is slowly steamed in an artisanal stone oven, naturally fermented for 96 hours without chemical accelerators, and double-distilled in copper pot stills — all under the strict direction of their Maestra Tequilera. Every bottle is hand-filled, signed, and numbered. No additives. No shortcuts.
General Gorostieta Blanco pours a luminous, bright white with silver hues and a full, rich body. The nose opens with inviting notes of caramel, vanilla, cooked agave, and dulce de leche, giving way to fruity tones of red pomegranate, yellow plum, and chico zapote alongside bright citrus of grapefruit and lemon. Light black pepper spice, delicate rose petal florals, and subtle mineral undertones round out a beautifully complex aromatic profile. On the palate, the entry is silky and elegant, delivering a seamless blend of sweet, fruity, floral, and mineral flavors anchored by rich cooked agave. The finish is sweet and long-lasting.
