Description
Tequila General Gorostieta Reposado Tequila
Tequila General Gorostieta is an artisanal tequila rooted in history, heritage, and a relentless commitment to craft. Named after General Enrique Gorostieta, the legendary military leader of Mexico’s Cristero movement, this small-batch tequila is a tribute to courage, resilience, and the belief that some things are worth fighting for.
General Gorostieta is a tequila made by Destilería El Pandillo in Jesus Maria, Jalisco, sourced from agave grown in the Jalisco highlands and matured for exceptionally long, using estate-grown agave that reaches seven years of age before harvest. Production is done by hand from start to finish, with agave slow-cooked in a brick oven, crushed and rehydrated using a traditional tahona rather than harsh mechanical extraction, and fermented naturally over four days. The spirit is distilled twice in copper stills, with only the heart of the run retained, then aged in French oak for six months before being brought down to proof with spring water. No glycerin, oak essence, added color, or other additives are used at any stage.
