We wanted to pay homage to not just the musicians, but the graphic designers, the concert photographers, and anyone else that creates, or just admires, these works of art. We started looking at old Blue Note Records album covers. We were inspired by the designs of old Thelonious Monk, Tampa Red, and Lou Donaldson records. Then, we set out to find pictures that captured a particular moment in time. The artists featured on the labels vary greatly, from unknowns to icons, but what these pictures all have in common is that they capture not just a moment, but a feeling.
