Wheel Horse is an award-winning independent bottler and blender. Our whiskeys are distilled in Kentucky, and blended, finished and bottled in Rhode Island.

Our whiskeys are distilled at Green River Distilling in Owensboro, Kentucky.

The site of the distillery, on the westernmost edge of the Kentucky Bourbon Trail, has housed distilleries for over 130 years and has produced Bourbon for brands including Ezra Brooks, Mellow Corn, and Old Medley. The Green River Distillery, first erected on this property in 1885, was the first in Owensboro and the 10th permitted distillery to open in the state of Kentucky.

It takes hard work and patience to make a great whiskey. Master distiller Jacob Call, seventh-generation Kentuckian and third generation distiller, has spent decades honing his craft.

Double Oak is the first 5-year Wheel Horse release. Aged for over 4.5 years in its original Char 4 oak barrels, the whiskey was re-casked into new Char 1 oak barrels for another 6 months of finishing. On the nose, this whiskey is rich, with aromas of chocolate-dipped toffee and pound cake. Once sipped, sweeter flavors of demerara sugar and vanilla custard appear before revealing notes of dried cherries and cocoa. The finish lingers, featuring hints of chocolate cake, pipe tobacco and brown sugar.
