The distillery searches the country for the finest barrels of Straight Bourbon and Rye, bringing them back to Brooklyn to be hand-assembled, non-chill filtered, and proofed with pure limestone mineral water from the historic Rosendale Mines in Upstate New York. This water, soft yet mineral-rich, comes from underground aquifers that once supplied the cement used to build some of America’s most iconic landmarks, including the Brooklyn Bridge, the Empire State Building, the Statue of Liberty’s pedestal, Grand Central Terminal, Federal Hall, and even portions of the White House. Over many decades, rainfall filtered through limestone to fill the caverns with water ideal for proofing whiskey.

Every week, Widow Jane distills in Red Hook using the finest non-GMO grains, including their own Baby Jane corn varietal, which they have developed and nurtured over years. From the careful selection of ingredients to the blending and proofing process, the distillery’s goal is to craft bold, rich whiskeys that carry an unmistakable New York character.

Widow Jane Lucky Thirteen 13 Year Old Bourbon Whiskey is a small‑batch bourbon, aged a minimum of thirteen years and bottled at 93 proof (46.5% ABV), showcasing both time and place in every drop. The whiskey has been shaped by the shifting temperatures and humidity of its original resting sites and its time aging in Widow Jane’s Rick House in Red Hook, Brooklyn. Variations in barrel placement and climate have created subtle nuances in flavor, all harmoniously blended from just a handful of barrels at a time.

This expression is non‑chill filtered and proofed using pure limestone mineral water drawn from the Rosendale Mines of Upstate New York, infusing each pour with a sense of luck and legacy. On the nose, inviting notes of vanilla bean, Earl Grey tea, caramel, and sweet tobacco. The palate reveals flavors of pecan pie, whole grain toast, and grapefruit peel, while the finish closes with touches of nutmeg, birch beer, and dry oak tannin.
