Description
Willett Family Estate Small Batch 4 Year Bourbon
Willett Distillery was established in 1936 by Thompson Willett, but the family’s whiskey legacy began long before. Thanks to his father and grandfather, Thompson held a deep knowledge and respect for the craftsmanship involved in making fine whiskeys: Use the best ingredients available, pay close attention to the details – then take a step back and give the whiskey time and space to develop character. It’s a simple approach, but it seems to be working.
The Willett Family Estate Small Batch Bourbon is a commingling of two classic Willett family mash bills. A new addition to the Willett family of brands with legendary roots and fresh elegance. Both mash bills enter the barrel at 125 proof with a final bottling proof to vary among batches based on the discretion of Master Distiller and fifth generation whiskey maker, Drew Kulsveen.
Willett Family Estate Small Batch 4 Year Bourbon opens with a warm, inviting nose of caramelized sugar and vanilla bean, complemented by toasted oak, gentle baking spices, and subtle hints of sweet corn and dark fruit. The palate is rich and full-bodied, featuring layers of caramel, butterscotch, and baking spice, balanced by peppery rye warmth, toasted grains, and a touch of citrus zest, while oak and char provide structure without overpowering. The finish is long and comforting, with lingering notes of oak, cinnamon, vanilla cream, and brown sugar, showcasing the bourbon’s youthful intensity alongside satisfying depth and complexity.
