Description
Abrasado Malbec
Bodega Los Toneles was established in 1922 by the Armando family in Mendoza, Argentina. The winery was initially known as Armando Hermanos, but later became popularly known as Bodega de los Toneles owing to the visual impact of the enormous French oak barrels in which its wines were aged. In 2002, the Millán family acquired the estate, breathing new life into its vintage charm while integrating modern techniques and significant investment. Declared a Cultural Heritage site of Mendoza, the winery’s architecture reflects the Industrial Revolution, showcasing Argentina’s commitment to harmonizing tradition with contemporary practice.
The vineyards extend across the province, benefiting from Mendoza’s unique climate. Snowmelt from the Andes provides essential irrigation, while dramatic temperature shifts between day and night enhance the grapes’ aromas and flavors. The combination of calcareous and sandy soils, along with dedicated vineyard management, results in wines that capture the essence of their terroir.
The Abrasado Terroir Selection Malbec delivers bold tastes of dark fruits, spice, and oak, with unique aromas of licorice, violets, and wild blueberries. Medium to full-bodied with stemmy tannins, it offers a fresh and herbal finish
