Description
Aromanes Châteauneuf-du-Pape
Aromanes is an organically farmed estate producing expressive wines from one of the Southern RhĂ´ne’s most celebrated appellations. The vineyard is located to the north-west of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, on the left bank of the RhĂ´ne, where the region’s legendary galets roulĂ©s, large, heat-retaining stones, help produce wines of remarkable depth and character. With vines averaging 40 years of age, the estate draws on decades of root development to yield concentrated, terroir-driven fruit.
Winemaking at Aromanes is a careful, hands-on process. Grapes are selected by hand and sorted by variety and parcel before being placed into concrete vats. A vatting period of approximately 30 days, incorporating pump-overs, délestage, and punch-downs, ensures full extraction of color, tannin, and flavor. The wines are then aged for 12 months in vats and one-year-old barrels before blending, preserving freshness while adding structure and complexity.
The estate produces a Grenache-led blend crafted to reflect the warmth and generosity of the Southern RhĂ´ne, with aging potential that rewards patience. Certified organic, Aromanes is committed to farming practices that protect the health of the soil and the integrity of the fruit.
