Description
Aromanes Châteauneuf-du-Pape
Aromanes is an organically farmed estate producing expressive wines from one of the Southern Rhône’s most celebrated appellations. The vineyard is located to the north-west of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, on the left bank of the Rhône, where the region’s legendary galets roulés, large, heat-retaining stones, help produce wines of remarkable depth and character. With vines averaging 40 years of age, the estate draws on decades of root development to yield concentrated, terroir-driven fruit.
Winemaking at Aromanes is a careful, hands-on process. Grapes are selected by hand and sorted by variety and parcel before being placed into concrete vats. A vatting period of approximately 30 days, incorporating pump-overs, délestage, and punch-downs, ensures full extraction of color, tannin, and flavor. The wines are then aged for 12 months in vats and one-year-old barrels before blending, preserving freshness while adding structure and complexity.
The estate produces a Grenache-led blend crafted to reflect the warmth and generosity of the Southern Rhône, with aging potential that rewards patience. Certified organic, Aromanes is committed to farming practices that protect the health of the soil and the integrity of the fruit.
