Description
Burgess Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
As winegrowers we understand we are part of a natural system, which we nourish through regenerative, minimalist farming, adding only what we need so that the vines are in harmony with the land. Our farms at Sorenson, Quartz Creek, and St. Andrews vineyards are where our principles meet action, offering classically proportioned wines of grace, made with minimal intervention.
The 2016 Burgess Cabernet Sauvignon presents a deep, inky ruby-garnet color in the glass that immediately signals classic Napa richness. On the nose, it reveals layered aromatics of ripe blackberry and stewed cassis framed by herbal high tones of mint and sage, with sweet tobacco and subtle cedar nuances adding complexity. The palate is medium- to full-bodied with plush dark fruit flavors—black cherry, cassis, and blueberry—intertwined with gentle baking spice, earthy undertones, and a touch of herbal freshness, supported by smooth, velvety tannins that give weight without heaviness. The finish lingers long and elegant, carrying the dark fruit and nuanced spice through to a refined close with hints of tobacco and sandalwood that echo Napa Valley’s hillside character.
