Description
Campo alle Comete Stupore Bolgheri Rosso DOC
Stupore brings the character of Bolgheri to full expression, showcasing the three defining traits of the region: smooth, rounded tannins, minerality, and balsamic notes. The sea’s influence comes through as well, lending the wine a pleasantly salty edge on the palate.
The fruit comes from a 3.5-hectare vineyard in Castagneto Carducci, planted on vines aged 10 to 25 years across mostly loose, clay, and limestone soils near the coast, at just 0 to 60 meters elevation. After fermentation in stainless steel and concrete and 20 days of skin maceration, the wine ages in 5 HL tonneaux and barriques for 10 months, followed by a minimum of 6 months in bottle before release. Stupore pairs beautifully with aged and blue cheeses, grilled meat, sausages, and lamb.
