Charles Woodson’s Intercept Cabernet Sauvignon

Intercept Wines is created by Charles Woodson, an NFL Legend, Super Bowl Champion, Pro Football Hall of Famer, and the only defensive player to ever win the Heisman Trophy. Charles’s journey into the world of wine began when he was drafted by the Oakland Raiders in 1998 and attended their spring training camp set in the heart of Napa Valley. There he was introduced to a vibrant wine culture that was a world away from his Midwest upbringing. After a memorable dinner with Robert Mondavi Charles was officially hooked, and he began making barrels of wine on the side, eventually launching his first wine – a 2005 Merlot.

In 2019, he launched Charles Woodson’s Intercept Wines, and in 2020 became the first Black Pro-Football player to achieve national distribution on a wine brand. Even with all his history, Charles says he’s just getting started.

Our 2022 Intercept Cabernet Sauvignon has aromas of ripe blackberries, red currants, and dried herbs. The wine is full-bodied with flavors of baking spice and plush ripe fruit with a long, fine grained tannin finish. Pair with anything off the BBQ, steaks, braised short ribs, and lamp chops.
