Dr. G is the passion project of Willie Glückstern, an American wine broker, author, teacher, and longtime champion of German wine. The wine is sourced from both the steep slate cliffs and the gentler lower slopes of the Mosel, a combination that gives it a distinctly mineralic character uncommon at its price point. Presented in a playful package and shipped fresh to preserve its vitality, it stands as a remarkable value in dry German Riesling.

The 2024 growing season in the Mosel opened with a warm spring before cooler temperatures arrived in August, giving the grapes time to develop slowly and build real complexity. By early autumn, sunny days paired with cool nights and low humidity created ideal harvesting conditions, allowing growers to pick at peak ripeness and yielding wines of exceptional freshness, structure, and depth.

Light and lively in character, this wine greets the senses with fresh orchard fruit and the unmistakable scent of wet stone. The palate is animated and focused, weaving together notes of green apple, pear, grapefruit, and lemon alongside a firm mineral backbone rooted in the region’s signature slate soils.
