Description
Ferrante Chianti Riserva DOCG
Castellani is one of Tuscany’s most established wine producers, based in Pontedera and drawing on decades of experience crafting wines from the region’s most celebrated appellations. The Ferrante Chianti DOCG Riserva is a classic expression of Tuscany at its most traditional, sourced from vineyards in the historic Chianti zone and produced to Riserva standards, requiring a minimum of 24 months ageing before release. It is a wine rooted in the soul of central Italy, built around Sangiovese, the great red grape of Tuscany, and crafted to reflect the elegance, structure, and food-friendly character that has made Chianti one of the world’s most beloved red wine appellations.
Winemaking follows a respectful, traditional approach. Ripe grapes are harvested and crushed promptly to minimise oxidation, before fermenting in temperature-controlled tanks at 20-25°C. Extended skin contact after primary fermentation ensures deep colour extraction and structural complexity. The wine then rests at a constant temperature for a minimum of 24 months, developing the roundness and depth that define the Riserva style. The result is a wine of genuine character, bearing the hallmarks of great Chianti — vibrant fruit, earthy depth, and a natural affinity for the table.
