Roughly 40 miles from the city of Mendoza, in the foothills of the Andes Mountains lays one of the best kept secrets in the Uco Valley; Gouguenheim Winery. Vineyards are cultivated at an altitude of more than 3,600 feet. In a region that has a desert climate the vines are irrigated with water from high in the Andes Mountains. This unique terroir allows for optimal fruit ripening, concentrated flavors and varietal character vintage after vintage.
Gouguenheim Winery Malbec Reserva features a dark purple color with aromas of red fruits, chocolate and coffee beans. The palate opens up with flavors of red and black cherries that accented by floral notes. The finish is complex, yet balanced with lingering notes of French oak. This wine does spend 6 months aging in French oak and another 4 months in the bottle.
