Description
Jacques Dumont Sauvignon Blanc
The Loire valley is the ideal region for growing Sauvignon Blanc, thanks to its climate and terroir. Warm summer days and cool nights lead to ideal maturity, alcohol content, and aromatic intensity. The chalky, limestone soils act as a water reservoir that nurtures the vines even during dry periods, and also impart the signature minerality of Sauvignon Blanc from the region. Jacques Dumont Sauvignon Blanc is farmed sustainably, from grower partners in Saumur, Touraine, and Pays Nantais. Nantes, with its sandy soil, imparts round and rich flavors, while the calcareous Touraine and Saumur in the upper Loire give the wine its signature mineral and bright citrus and exotic fruit notes.
The average age of the vines is 35 years. Fermentation is done in stainless steel tanks between 59 & 64.4 degrees Fahrenheit, with some bâtonnage to add complexity and body. Round and lush, followed by bracing citrus and exotic fruit flavors and the signature minerality of Loire Valley Sauvignon Blanc.
