Shooting Star Cabernet Sauvignon

Shooting Star comes from the mind of Jed Steele, a Lake County winemaker whose career began in 1968 in the cellars of Stony Hill before he went on to make his name at Edmeades Winery in Mendocino County and later at Kendall-Jackson, where he helped shape the style that would become Vintner’s Reserve. Steele founded his own winery in Kelseyville in 1991, and the Shooting Star label grew out of his desire to offer approachable, terroir driven wines by the glass alongside more esoteric small production bottlings. In 2020 the winery changed hands, with Clay Shannon taking over ownership while continuing to produce wine under both the Steele and Shooting Star names.

Cabernet Sauvignon, sourced from Lake County in California’s North Coast, carries the region’s signature combination of ripe fruit and rustic, earthy structure, offering a wine that’s easy to enjoy while still showing real varietal character.
