Description
Maison Foucher Lebrun Sauvignon Petit Le Mont
Fun and fancy free, Petit Le Mont is meant to inspire one to babble on and on about anything that brings joy. The wine comes from Maison Foucher, a third-generation “Petit Négociant” founded in 1921 and located in Aligny-Cosne, 30 kilometers northeast of Sancerre in the Loire Valley. The estate was built on a mission to craft classic expressions of Loire appellations at exceptional value, a standard upheld today by Jean Mounard, a former fine and rare wine merchant whose palate was shaped by years of tasting and selling the likes of DRC, Mouton-Rothschild, and Leflaive.
Petit Le Mont is 100% Sauvignon Blanc sourced from organically farmed vineyards at the frontier of Touraine and Haut Poitou. Its name nods to its baby sibling role alongside the house’s perennial favorite, Sancerre Blanc Le Mont, same DNA, more accessible price. The grapes are fermented and aged entirely in stainless steel tank, a deliberate choice that keeps the wine racy, energetic, and true to the bright, lifted character of Loire Sauvignon. No oak, no interference, just clean varietal expression from well-farmed soils.
