Ao is Suntory’s first World Whisky, bringing together character from five of the world’s most prestigious whisky regions: Ireland, Scotland, America, Canada, and Japan. Each region contributes its own personality, shaped by its distinct history and climate, and the result is a blend built on nearly a century of Suntory’s blending expertise. Where Suntory’s other blends aim for harmony by unifying individual whisky personalities into one voice, Ao takes a different approach: it finds harmony at its base while still layering and highlighting the many characteristics each region brings. The result is a whisky whose aromas and flavors shift and evolve depending on when and how it’s enjoyed.

Suntory’s blenders wove this complex flavor profile from diverse climates and cultures to create a whisky that offers different experiences in different settings. Ao works equally well neat, on the rocks, or mixed into a whisky cocktail, making it a versatile bottle for a range of drinkers and occasions.

The whisky has also been recognized internationally, earning a gold medal at the International Spirits Challenge in 2025 and a silver medal at the same competition in 2026.
