Thirteen stars, configured 4 on the left, 4 on the right, and 5 in the middle in the shape of a pentagon is inspired by SGM Jaskula’s best friend and battle buddy, Chris Dill. A fellow drill sergeant who was K.I.A. on 4/4/05 which adds up to Thirteen.

When connected the Thirteen stars make one army chevron, the rank of private, which reflects that no one starts out at the top, not even generals or sergeant major.

The number Thirteen in the background represents the Thirteen in roulette, so let it ride.
