Description
Barossa Valley Estate Cabernet Sauvignon
Barossa Valley Estate crafts this Cabernet Sauvignon to showcase the elegance and vibrant fruit character that define one of the world’s most celebrated wine regions. The vineyards sit along the foothills of the Barossa Valley, where ancient red clay soils meet a warm, dry climate to give the fruit unusual depth and intensity. Careful vineyard management keeps vine vigor and yield in check, concentrating flavor into small, distinctive berries that carry the true character of the site.
The 2023 vintage began with a warm, dry spring that limited vine growth and fruit set during flowering, followed by rising temperatures through veraison that were offset with targeted irrigation. Rain and cooler weather in March helped build vibrant fruit flavors, and the resulting lower yields produced concentrated, well balanced fruit. Grapes were harvested and fermented block by block, undergoing pre fermentation maceration and controlled fermentation of up to seven days to preserve elegance and build soft tannin structure. After malolactic fermentation, the wine spent 12 months in French oak, which added texture and richness while reinforcing its varietal character and structure.
