Description
Maddalena Cabernet Sauvignon
Maddalena Wines takes its name from Maddalena Riboli, matriarch of the Riboli family. Born in Piedmont, Italy in 1922, she immigrated to America at age seven and went on to play a key role in building Riboli Family Wines and San Antonio Winery. Every bottle carries her signature as a nod to the strength and elegance she brought to the family’s winemaking legacy.
This Cabernet Sauvignon comes from 100% estate-grown fruit in the El Pomar and Creston Districts of Paso Robles, where elevation shifts, temperature swings, and well-drained, calcareous soils create ideal conditions for expressive, balanced Cabernet. Small lots are harvested and fermented separately with minimal intervention, allowing the character of each vineyard block to come through. A mild, consistent growing season with limited rainfall supported even vine development, resulting in a wine with ripe, concentrated fruit and firm structure. The blend is 90% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Petit Verdot, and 5% Cabernet Franc, aged in a mix of 20% American oak, 20% French oak, and 60% neutral oak. Both the vineyards and the Paso Robles winery are Certified Sustainable through CSWA.
