Wine

With fruit sourced from top vineyards across Coombsville, St. Helena, Mount Veeder, and Rutherford, this wine showcases the region’s depth and diversity. Crafted with minimal intervention and a focus on expressing the natural character of the grapes, it is a true representation of Napa’s fine winemaking heritage.

Vintage Notes

2022 was another drought year, leading to an early bud break and flowering. A steady spring extended the growing season, placing veraison slightly behind schedule. A significant 10-day heat wave from September 1–10 had minimal impact on the Bordeaux varietals.

Harvest began with Merlot on September 30 and concluded with Coombsville Cabernet Sauvignon on October 14.

Winemaking

RouteStock’s winemaking philosophy celebrates natural expression and vineyard integrity. With a minimal-intervention approach, native yeasts and natural malolactic fermentation are employed, avoiding chemical additives.

Each bottle reflects authenticity, highlighting the distinctive qualities of the vineyard sites and vintage while capturing the true spirit of California wine country.

Vineyards

Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is a world-renowned institution, and this bottling is sourced from long-term partnerships with four exceptional vineyards across the region:

• Coombsville (cooler climate)

• St. Helena (warmer valley conditions)

• Mount Veeder (mountain-grown fruit)

• Rutherford (classic valley floor expression)

The result is a bright, complex blend that captures Napa’s diversity. Small percentages of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Malbec, and Petit Verdot are added for enhanced complexity and balance.

Tasting notes

A deep magenta hue opens to enveloping aromas of cedar, shaved graphite, black plum, and dried thyme.

Medium-to-full bodied, the palate showcases Napa’s hallmark richness and structure, offering supple texture and layered flavors of dark fruit, nutmeg, cinnamon, tobacco, coffee, and dark chocolate. Bright acidity provides lift, while refined tannins and ripe fruit create a balanced, complete Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon.
